Stranahan rolled through its last five playoff games by almost 19 ppg, assuring the first boys’ state title in the school’s 62-year history. Coach Terrence Williams’ team returns four starters who combined for 44 points in the Dragons’ 63-54 title-clinching win over St. Petersburg Lakewood – 6-6 SR Inady Legiste (23 points on 11-of-13 shooting vs. Nature Coast Tech in the semifinals), 5-10 SR Chayse Culpepper, 6-2 SR Dave Herard and 6-1 SR Daquion Vickers. New arrivals 6-0 SR Jayden Fye (Blanche Ely) and 6-5 JR Thadeus Squire (Boyd Anderson) add depth. Culpepper is the son of former Dolphina & Vikings quarterback Dante Culpepper, who played in the 1993 City of Palms (Ocala Vanguard).
