Josh Giles’ rapidly-ascending national powerhouse becomes the first California team to play in a City of Palms since Santa Ana Mater Dei in 2017 – and has a legitimate chance to win it. Most of the starting lineup returns from last year’s state-championship run, including Duke commit 6-2 SR Jared McCain.

JOSH GILES begins his 20th season at Centennial (453-134) with the longest winning streak in the nation. His teams have won 14 Big VIII League championships, and Giles has been named CIF Coach of the Year five times, as well as state Coach of the Year in 2021 and ’22, and 2022 Max Preps National Coach of the Year. He credits his success to the support of his amazing wife Cara and their four children (Alina, Kayla, McKenna, and JJ). The oldest daughter, Alina, is now a freshman at Concordia, playing softball. Prior to his coaching career, Giles was a four-year starter and two-time first team All-American at Concordia University in Irvine, Calif. The school’s all-time leader in points and assists, he was inducted into the Concordia Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005. Giles began his coaching carrier at Glendora High, serving as the freshman coach for two years and an assistant varsity coach to the 2001 CIF Southern Section championship team.
