Warriors At A Glance

The City of Palms’ first participant from Delaware brings high hopes into the 2018-19 season, as coach Stan Waterman welcomes back 11 of the 12 players who beat previously unbeaten Dover 48-45 to capture Sanford’s seventh state championship during his 28-year tenure. 6-7 SR Jyare Davis (17.1 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 2.0 apg) is already well-known nationally and had 14 points and eight rebounds in the title game, but look out for rapidly improving 6-9 JR Nnanna Njoku (10.6 ppg, 6.1 rpg) in the paint. Cousins 6-0 SR Corey Perkins (11.5 ppg, 4.8 apg) and 5-11 SR Hassan Perkins (11.4 ppg, 2.8 apg) provide firepower from the perimeter. One of Sanford’s four losses was to City of Palms runner-up Imhotep Charter 64-47 last Dec. 15.
