Cadets At A Glance

St. John’s graduated only three seniors and had no juniors, but should remain near the top of the nation’s toughest league (WCAC) for at least the next 2-3 years. The prized centerpiece is 6-8 SOPH Amani Hansberry (10.6 ppg, 7.7 rpg), who played in all 33 games for the Cadets as a freshman and had 19 points, 11 rebounds in a 62-56 quarterfinal win over Baltimore Poly at the Beach Ball Classic (Myrtle Beach, S.C.). Six of the team’s nine losses came to nationally-ranked league foes DeMatha, Paul VI & Gonzaga. Besides Hansberry, three key players are back for at least another two seasons – 6-6 JR Christian Watson (9 ppg), 6-3 JR Shane Lancaster (7 ppg) and 5-11 SOPH Malik Mack. Additionally, be on the lookout for incoming 6-7 FRESH Donovan Freeman. … Coach Patrick Behan is 74-32 in three years with the Cadets.
