Buffaloes At A Glance

Sunrise Christian has been a fixture in the national rankings for the better part of a decade, finishing No. 13 in USA Today’s final poll after four of six defeats came to No. 1 IMG, No. 2 La Lumiere, No. 3 McEachern and No. 4 Montverde. Coach Luke Barnwell’s program will continue to churn out top recruits, with this year’s squad relying almost entirely on newcomers like 6-3 SR Jayden Stone (21.2 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 4.1 apg at Sacred Heart AL), 6-7 JR Kendall Brown (17.5 ppg at Woodberry East Ridge MN), 6-0 SOPH Willie Lightfoot (17.9 ppg, 5.3 apg, 3.1 rpg at Niagara Falls NY), 6-10 JR Zach Clemence (6.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg at Findlay Prep) and Northwestern commit 6-3 SR Ty Berry (Newton KS). Lightfoot, an electric lefty, dropped 39 – including 20 straight and the game-tying 3 – in an overtime playoff win over Williamsville and led Niagara Falls to New York’s Class AA semifinals.
