Lions At A Glance
The midseason arrival of 6-7 JR Sammy Yeanay from North Marion helped coach Justin Harden’s group overcome the season-ending injury to 6-8 JR Ryan Jones and win its fourth SIAA state championship.
JUSTIN HARDEN enters his 14th season as head coach at The Rock School (323-142) since being elevated from assistant coach. In those 13 years, the Lions have won four SIAA state championships (2013, ’18, ’19 and ’22) and failed to reach 20 wins only once. The 2016-17 team (35-5) was runner-up at The Grind Session National Championship Tournament. Harden has been named SIAA Coach of the Year four times, including last season. The Rock is an inaugural member of the SIAA (formed in 2010), and Harden has been an instrumental figure in its establishment and growth, helping to get House Bill 1403 passed (2012), allowing the SIAA to play FHSAA-member schools.
