Knights At A Glance

The pride of Thomaston (pop. 9,638), the Knights SOLD OUT the 8,600-seat McCamish Pavilion for the 4A state-title game at Georgia Tech University. The 53-48 victory over Atlanta St. Pius X was only the sixth time all season that Upson-Lee won by single digits. The Knights’ most coveted player is 6-2 SR guard Ty Fagan, who dropped 30 points in an 84-65 win over Mary Persons in the region final. Just as importantly, 6-5 JR Travon Walker had 16 points and 13 boards in UL’s 74-59 semifinal win over Henry County, offsetting Fagan’s foul problems, and 16 of U-L’s 37 rebounds in the title game. Head coach Darrell Lockhart was a college teammate of Charles Barkley at Auburn.
