HEAD COACH: Dion Real
One of the Volunteer State’s proudest programs under 12th-year head coach Dion Real (477-155 in 22 years overall at six high schools in Tennessee, Arkansas and Illinois) returns to Fort Myers, after turning last year’s fourth-place City of Palms finish into Bartlett’s first state championship in 25 years. A young nucleus returns intact – state tournament MVP 6-7 SR Dylan Jones (16.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg), 6-0 JR Braylon Williams (14.0 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 3.4 apg) and 6-6 JR D.J. Okoth (13.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg) – and is joined by highly touted transfer 6-6 SR Antonio McGaughey (St. George’s Prep). … The Panthers are 277-63 in Real’s past nine seasons with three Final Four appearances, and ended last season on an 18-game winning streak, including victories over Brentwood 65-56, Knoxville Bearden 71-61 and Walker Valley 69-47 at the Class 4A Finals in Murfreesboro.
