Dynamic Prep is probably best-known for its fifth-year sideline boss, Jermaine O’Neal, who averaged 13.2 points and 7.2 rebounds for seven teams during an 18-year NBA career. But as the academy’s founder and head coach, he has kept his team in the national-title conversation. Dynamic’s expected showpiece, consensus No. 1 recruit Marcus Spears, Jr., reclassified and is off to the University of Texas, allowing a solid recruiting class to take center stage – five-star 2028 transfers 6-8 JR Benjamin Berrouet (20.5 ppg, 12.7 rpg at McKinney Boyd TX), Overtime Elite arrivals 6-6 JR Blaze Johnson (Overtime Elite) and Arizona State-bound 6-7 SR Howard Williams, and Maryland commit 6-3 SR Payton Jones (20.1 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 3 apg, 2.3 steals at Beaumont United TX). … Berrouet powered Latvia to its first-ever FIBA U16 EuroBasket championship, averaging 23.5 points and 15 rebounds, the tournament’s most efficient numbers since 2006 (Ricky Rubio). … O’Neal, the 17th overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft as a prep-to-pro out of Columbia Eau Claire (S.C.), blossomed into a six-time All-Star and the NBA’s Most Improved Player in 2001-02. Two years later, he finished third in the MVP voting and averaged a career-high 24.3 points the following season.
