The show-stopping dynamic duo of Arizona State recruit 6-7 SR Carson Crawford (17.2 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 2.5 steals) and rapidly-emerging 6-10 SOPH Jalil Hill (7.0 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 2.3 blocks) powered Fleming Island to its first state-title game appearance since 2019, and should keep head coach Traavis Chandler’s squad in the mix for a spot in this season’s new eight-team Open Division. … Crawford – a starter for the Florida Rebels’ 17U Peach Jam champions over the summer – notched 14 double-doubles during his junior campaign, but the season’s defining moment came on Feb. 21, when he exploded for a school-record 50 points in an 85-64 blowout of Pensacola Washington in the 5A-Reg. 1 semifinals.
