One of Collier County’s easternmost public high schools has quietly built a solid program under its sixth-year head coach, John Solak (94-40 with three district titles at Ridge, 32-46 in three seasons at Cypress Lake). This year’s Bears, while still very young, will rely heavily upon returning starter 6-2 JR Eugene McCray (13.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.5 apg), along with impact arrivals 5-10 SOPH Corban Copeland (15.9 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 3.4 apg for 1A regional finalist Donohue Catholic) and his younger brother, 5-7 FRESH Blaise Copeland (6.0 ppg, 1.5 apg at Donohue).
