One of the Northeast’s proudest programs, “Chase Street” makes its fourth City of Palms appearance, but its first in the 16-team Traditional Bracket since 2009, fresh off winning its 12th Baltimore Catholic League (BCL) championship. The undisputed leader of Coach Nick Myles’ latest group will be 6-1 SR Terence Jones III (17 ppg), who scored 19 points in the 67-55 BCL title-game win over Our Lady of Mount Carmel at Reitz Arena and had a season-high 25 in 66-60 victory against Calvin Coolidge in the Capital City National Showcase, which also marked Myles’ 400th win. But there are some intriguing transfer arrivals in 6-8 JR Dazmir Giles (7.6 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 2.7 steals at Baltimore Overlea), point guard SR Camontae Griffin, Jr. (4.0 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 3.3 apg at Gillion Academy) – who is back in Baltimore after playing in last year’s City of Palms – and Jerrell Hurt (Richmond Henrico VA).
