Even though the 2020 version of the Culligan City of Palms Classic never tipped off, the schools invited to participate this year are still filling their schedules and battling it out for titles in their respective regions, states and the nation.
Leading high school sports publication MaxPreps just released their latest Top 25 rankings for the season thus far and seven of the top 25 schools scheduled to take part in this year’s COP are ranked this week. Leading the pack are Nos. 1 and 2, Montverde Academy and IMG Academy. These two teams are also the COP defending champ and runner-up respectively. Also making the top 25 and scheduled to make the trip to Fort Myers are: No. 9 Legacy Early College (Greenville, SC), No. 11 Wasatch Academy (Mt. Pleasant, Utah), No. 20 Milton HS (Alpharetta, Ga.), No. 22 Calvary Christian Academy (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and No. 25 West Oaks Academy (Orlando, Fla.). While they won’t be making the trip to Southwest Florida this year, we wish all of them the best of luck in their respective seasons.
