As the NBA season heats up here in late January many of the young stars are recent alumni of the City of Palms Classic. Here are some of the former City of Palms players making names for themselves in the show:
Collin Sexton (Pebblebrook High School, Ga.) – averaging an amazing 24.8 points, which puts him at 15th in the league, 4.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Sexton is one of the rising stars that currently has the Cavs in contention for the playoffs.
R.J. Barrett (Montverde Academy, Fla.) – second on the New York Knicks with 17.4 points, third with 3.4 assists, and third with 7.1 rebounds per game. Barrett is also one of the leaders in minutes for the resurgent Knicks as they look to get back in the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
LaMelo Ball (Chino Hills, Calif.) – averaging 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists per game for the Charlotte Hornets. He’s also made some highlight reel-worthy passes throughout the season.
Cole Anthony (Archbishop Molloy, N.Y. and Oak Hill Academy, Va.) – averaging 11 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3 assists per game for the Orlando Magic, including a buzzer-beating 3-pointer last week against the T’Wolves.
James Wiseman (Memphis East, Tenn.) – averaging 12 points, 6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game for the Golden State Warriors. Wiseman has helped to get the Warriors back into playoff contention this season.
