HEAD COACH: Rich Thornton (702-326-1087) … EMAIL: coachrich89@gmail.com
There are high expectations in the Valley of the Sun, as coach Rich Thornton’s squad was tabbed in April as MaxPreps’ “Way-Too-Early” No. 1 team (excluding academies) in the nation. McDonald’s All-American Cameron Holmes has left the building, but the other four starters are all returning – five-star prospect 6-4 SR Adan Diggs (22.5 ppg, 8 rpg, 4.0 apg, 3.0 steals), 6-7 JR Trey McKinney, 6-1 SR Adrian Higuera and 6-6 SR D.J. Spencer. Diggs’ MVP performance powered Millennium to the Iolani Classic championship in December and he erupted for 33 points in the Tigers’ heart-wrenching 66-64 loss to St. Mary’s in the Open Division semifinals. McKinney dropped 23 points in a 61-43 win over Christ The King(N.Y.) in the HoopHall Classic.
