If you’re looking for a darkhorse in Fort Myers, look no further than coach Glenn Farello’s loaded team, making its sixth City of Palms Classic appearance, a veteran group with a big-time talent at every position and an undefeated WCAC regular season already on its resume. Much of its firepower led Team Final to the Nike EYBL Peach Jam championship in July, with two of Duke’s most prized recruits leading the way – 6-5 SR Darren Harris, who took home MVP honors after averaging 14.3 ppg. and 6-10 SR Pat Ngongba, who emerged as the summer’s fastest-rising recruit. … UConn pledge 6-7 SR Isaiah Abraham and Notre Dame verbal 6-8 SR Garrett Sundra, join youngsters 6-3 SOPH Jordan Smith and 6-1 SOPH Anthony Brown to form one of high school basketball’s most dangerous and balanced lineups. Paul VI also adds transfer Adlan Elamin (Bishop O’Connell VA) and is grooming 6-2 SOPH Jordan Hunter and 6-3 FRESH Troy Homlin to be “next in line.” … Harris shot 46 percent from the floor over the eight games at the Peach Jam and rattled off 28 points, four rebounds and four assists in the nationally-televised title game, while Ngongba added 11 points, five boards and three assists. … Farello (549-207) coached the Panthers in the infamous “slippery floor” game, the 2013 City of Palms final that was moved from Bishop Verot to Fort Myers High, losing 58-53 to Montverde Academy.
