Coach Glenn Farello is hoping his team’s fifth trip to Fort Myers (including a runner-up finish in 2013) will bring championship gold to one of America’s proudest programs over the past decade. The top-seeded Panthers, powered by Maryland signee 6-5 DeShawn Harris-Smith and early Duke pledge 6-4 JR Darren Harris, came within one game of a nearly impossible sweep of WCAC, Virginia VISAA and Alhambra Classic titles.
GLENN FARELLO (525-207 overall) is entering his 16th year as head coach at Paul VI and 25th overall. He has been named Coach of the Year 13 times, most recently the WCAC Coach of the Year in 2018 & ’19, and VISAA Coach of the Year in 2018, ’20 and ’22. His teams have been ranked in the Top 20 in the DC Metro Area 17 times, including No. 1 four times since 2012. Last year’s PVI squad came within one game of sweeping the WCAC, VISAA and Alhambra Invitational tournaments. Farello’s teams have been ranked in the Top 25 nationally in 14 of his 15 seasons, and the 2012, ’14, ’18 and ’22 PVI teams finished in the Top 10.
