Peach Jam concludes with Team Final taking the title

|

Another exciting Peach Jam came to a close recently. The amateur tournament in North Augusta, SC concludes the summer season for youth hoops with plenty of great talent from across the country. Team Final, out of Philadelphia, finished 7-1 and captured the Peach Jam crown over Brad Beal Elite during the five-day event that took place at the end of July.

Team Final’s Jalen Duren solidified his standing as the No. 1 senior in the nation, averaging 13.1 points per game as he led his team to the championship. Duren walked away with Peach Jam MVP honors. Duren, a City of Palms alum played for Roman Catholic in 2019.

Some of the other stars that shined bright at Peach Jam will be bringing their game to Fort Myers in December. They include:

  • Mackenzie Mgbako from the New Jersey Scholars and Gill St. Bernard’s High School. He averaged 17.3 points per game and nearly four rebounds per game at Peach Jam and was selected as the top underclassmen.
  • Dariq Whitehead from Team Durant and Montverde Academy. Dariq averaged 17.4 points per game and an astounding seven rebounds per game over six games at Peach Jam. Dariq was named to the All-Peach Jam First Team.

Nearly two dozen players in all that took part in this year’s Peach Jam will participate with their respective high schools at this year’s Culligan City of Palms Classic.
